Who We Are

Established in 2003, Over Two Decades of Nurturing Young Minds. Toddly Tots is a child-centred Montessori school in Ibadan with over two decades of experience nurturing children to learn, grow and discover their unique potential.

Our approach combines the principles of Montessori education with Nigeria's Basic Education Curriculum, creating a learning experience that develops the child — academically, morally, spiritually, socially, creatively and practically. We believe every child is a unique gift. Our responsibility is not simply to teach children what to know, but to help them discover who they are, what they can become and how they can make a positive difference in the world.

At Toddly Tots, we believe a Montessori classroom is more than a place for learning. It is a carefully prepared environment where children feel secure, valued and at home — free to explore, discover, practice and develop independence while growing at their own pace. Our classrooms are intentionally organised with carefully selected Montessori materials and learning experiences that encourage children to learn through their hands, engage their minds and develop their abilities through purposeful activity. Children are encouraged to work independently, make meaningful choices and repeat activities until they develop mastery. Throughout this process, the Directress carefully observes, guides and presents lessons according to each child's developmental needs and readiness.

The Essential Montessori Areas

Practical Life

Children develop independence and essential everyday skills through activities such as caring for themselves, caring for their environment, movement, coordination, concentration and graceful interaction with others.

Sensorial

Children refine their senses and learn to observe, compare, classify, discriminate and understand the world around them through carefully designed sensorial materials and experiences.

Mathematics

Children develop mathematical understanding from the concrete to the abstract, using hands-on materials to explore quantity, numbers, counting, operations, patterns, relationships and logical thinking.

Language

Children develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through rich language experiences, phonetic development, vocabulary, storytelling, sound work and carefully sequenced Montessori materials.

Culture & Science

Children explore the world beyond themselves through geography, history, biology, science, nature, culture, community and the environment — developing curiosity, appreciation and an understanding of their place in the world.
